Just as 2024 was coming to a close, most people were ready.  The holiday season was coming to an end, all new year's resolutions had been set, and 2025 was right around the corner. However, a deadly plane crash in South Korea on Jeju Air’s flight 7C2216 left all but two passengers deceased on December 29th. Many were left to grieve the losses of the crew and passengers globally.

On the 9th, just weeks before the crash, a small twin engine plane crashed on a highway in South Texas. The flight left four injured and one out of the four was taken to a hospital for “higher level treatment.” Everyone survived and the identities of the pilot and the drivers who witnessed it were kept a secret from the public.

Then,on January 7th (in Australia), a Cessna Caravan Float plane crashed right off Rottnest island, there were seven people on board but three were killed (including the pilot) while the rest succumbed to their injuries at the Melbourne hospital.

All of these crashes in the news are concerning. Many would hear about crashings every once in a while but this occurrence is quite alarming for the public. Many are wondering, why are these planes ending up in bad situations recently? Well, some might know why this is happening at the moment.

Several sources online say that it is the type of planes that are resulting in the plane crash. The many planes that are usually caught in these horrific crashes are Boeing planes and plenty of smaller planes. The reason as to why these planes have many issues is due to the age of these planes along with the flaws within the design on both the exterior and interior.

The same thing happens to smaller planes because of something called “pilot error”. Pilot error is when pilots are used to flying planes that are meant for long distance, but smaller planes are not equipped for long distance so they’re more prone to problems affecting the flight. Since smaller planes are also lighter in weight, then they are easily caught in turbulence and damaged from it due to its size and weight.

Those are some speculations as to why there is a current problem in the field of aviation. But don’t worry! Plane crashes are extremely rare in most cases. These are just a few that happen once in a while. Many planes in the United States are well equipped for flight and the airport operation teams take great care of the planes so that their customers can have a pleasant flight. There are new planes being thought out and made so that many people globally can get to their destinations safely. Safe travels Wizards!
