Have you ever met a kid who gets inspired by their parents in doing a specific field of work? If not, there are many students in our school who have decided to follow their parents footsteps and also participate in the same job field as their parents. But one talented outstanding student who stands out among her peers is our very own Myles Harris, a young lady who chose to follow her dads footsteps to get to her chosen field for college and future field of work being involved with the law.
After a quick interview with Ms. Harris she let readers know, “I’ve always looked up to my dad and seeing him come home from work to tell us stories of his day made me see what a hardworking man he was which inspired me to become a police officer.” She also answered the question: what did you do with inspiration from your father? She replied, “Well last year I saw a few seniors and juniors going to BOCES and a few friends of mine where in the police academy which boosted my interest along with wanting to follow in my fathers footsteps to definitely go along in my junior year to join the mini CTECH law enforcement program that BOCES offers.”
Myles chose to go this field route because she loves helping people whilst bringing more good into the world and starting with law enforcement will allow her to add on to her love of helping others before moving on to her chosen field. When also asked what she’s been doing to prepare for the police academy she replied, “From freshman year I have been doing JROTC which helps you get ready for the military so i took that knowledge that being in the military before entering the police force will give me experience in need to do a great job as a police officer. I also realized that after some research I didn't really need the military but it was a choice when I decided to take JROTC for the experience along with the credit which would help me in my experience.”
When her name was mentioned around Sargent Kawski, he expressed that “Harris was a cadet private and she did some community service which would give her a slight advantage in her future college application.” During her interview, Harris added that she thanked her JROTC teachers sergeant and lieutenant colonel for dealing with her even though she was one chaotic student. “Because of them, I'd advertise to the incoming students about how much JROTC helps in field and credit wise.”
When it comes to college, Harris told readers she started to look and hopes she gets into good colleges that will allow her to continue her dad’s journey of being a citizen who is part of the law doing something that benefits the people and herself. Now she's just waiting to see where this journey will take her.

She is beautifully and wonderfully made god bless her soul may she be succesfull
